CEREC One-Visit Dental Crowns

Dr. Jordan is able to create most crowns in one convenient, comfortable visit. Using CEREC technology, he starts by taking 3D digital images to get detailed, precise measurements of the dimensions of your mouth. He uses that information and our remarkable milling unit to create a customized all-porcelain restoration that is beautiful, durable and comfortable. You can even watch your crown as it is being made. Dr. Jordan finishes by bonding the newly created tooth or teeth into place.

CEREC technology allows you to avoid the normal hassle of getting a crown, bridge or denture.

  • No messy, uncomfortable impression of your tooth
  • No temporary crown or bridge.
  • No risk of it falling off and needing an emergency visit to reseat it.
  • No second visit to remove the temporary crown or bridge and place the permanent restoration.

Laboratory Dental Crowns

Occasionally, Dr. Jordan will determine that the best option for a patient is to get an all Zirconia crown from the lab. One of the biggest advantages of zirconia is its exceptional strength and durability. This procedure requires two appointments. At your first appointment, we will take several highly accurate impressions. These are usually taken with our 3D scanning technology but occasionally they require actual molds.

While the tooth is numb, Dr. Jordan will prepare it by removing any decay and properly shaping the surface to fit the crown. We will create a temporary crown which will stay on your tooth for approximately two weeks while your new crown is fabricated by a dental laboratory. Dr. Jordan will use temporary adhesive to attach your temporary crown, and your bite will be checked to ensure that it’s even. At your second appointment, your temporary crown will be removed, the tooth will be cleaned, and your new crown will be carefully placed to ensure correct spacing and bite.
